The summer months are fast approaching and with them comes a wave of new garden machinery hitting the Irish retail market.

The summer months are fast approaching and consumers are now starting to carry out their garden maintenance. High-quality garden machinery can make little of difficult tasks around the garden. From chainsaws to ride-on mowers, having the right garden machinery at their disposal can help develop a superb garden, whilst also providing them with the ability to maintain it to the highest of standards.

Here is a list of just some of the latest garden machinery hitting the retail market this season.

STIHL

MSA 120 C-BQ Chainsaw

The MSA 120 C-BQ Chainsaw is an exceptionally light, cordless chainsaw for garden and property maintenance at home, and for processing horizontal timber. This chainsaw features STIHL’s quick chain tensioning and QuickStop Super chain brake.

The chainsaw is quiet with no ear protection needed. The chainsaw comes with an AK 20 battery and AL 101 charger as standard.

HSA 56 Hedge Trimmer

The HSA 56 Hedge Trimmer is a lightweight, cordless hedge trimmer with high cutting performance for trimming bushes and hedges around the home. Single-sided cutter blade with 30mm tooth spacing, integrated cut protection in a droplet shape, and screw-on blade tip protector all feature. The hedge trimmer comes with an AK 10 battery and AL 101 charger as standard.

FSA 56 Brushcutter

The FSA 56 Brushcutter provides very high-performance mowing for grass trimming and clearing work. The brushcutter features a cutting circle of diameter 280mm, a soft grip, and an adjustable loop handle. Quiet, no ear protection needed. The brushcutter comes with an AK 10 battery and AL 101 charger as standard.

BGA 56 Blower

Clear your lawn, yard and driveways of leaves, grass, plant cuttings and dirt with the highly manoeuvrable BGA 56 blower from the COMPACT cordless power system series. The perfectly balanced BGA 56 is quiet and intuitive to use. The length-adjustable blower tube can be quickly adjusted to the height of the user. Set comes with AK 20 battery and AL 101 charger as standard.

Kubota

RTV-X1110 vehicle

Featuring a powerful and economical 24.2 HP Kubota 3-cylinder liquid cooled OHV diesel engine with selectable 2/4 WD, the new RTV-X1110 from Kubota offers exceptional performance both off and on-road. Featuring Kubota’s innovative 3-range VHT-X variable hydrostatic transmission and dynamic engine braking, the RTV X1110 is one of the safest and most versatile utility vehicles on the market.

The RTV-X1110 offers the ability to tow up to 590kg, or carry 540kg in its hydraulic-lift cargo bed. In addition, it offers power steering, deluxe split-bench seats and a digital easy-read instrument panel.

ZD1211 diesel zero-turn mower

Kubota’s all-new ZD1211 is loaded with features to make the job easier for those with serious groundcare needs. The ZD1211 is a 3-blade, 140mm deep deck commercial mower featuring a state-of-the-art diesel engine, high-capacity HST transmission and an ultra-comfortable operating area. Key features include faster and improved cutting performance and a hydraulic deck lift, comprised of a 2-pedal hydraulic deck lift system to keep users moving. This allows for easy cut height adjustment and can be achieved by simply raising or lowering the deck with the user’s foot.

L2 series L2602

The new model from the Kubota L2 Series, the L2602, boasts advanced technology for efficient operation. Kubota’s HST Plus provides optimal control and easy operation of both the hydraulic pump and the drive motor, it also includes a lever to shift between high and low speeds in each range, with six speeds in total. The new Auto Throttle Advance feature links the HST pedal and the engine throttle, synchronising tractor speed and engine revolution.

This not only makes the tractor easier to operate but also to navigate and help reduce fuel consumption. The L2 Series also boasts a revolutionary Load Sensing feature. If it detects a drop in engine RPM, it will automatically regulate HST pump and motor activity. With three modes to choose from, transmission operation can be adjusted to accommodate immediate needs.

Hustler

Raptor

There are three models available in the Hustler Raptor range: 36-inch cut, 42-inch cut and a 52-inch cut. The Raptor mower is perfect for the typical Irish lawn ranging from a third of an acre up to a full acre lawn. The Raptor mows lawns extremely quickly saving you time and money. The Raptor will leave an exceptional finish on your lawn and is a superb mower for mulching grass. Available from €4,600 including VAT, with the 52-inch model in particular priced at €5,781 including VAT.

Raptor SD and FasTrak

For those with a bigger lawn searching for the right tool to deal with the task at hand, there are two options available from Southern Machinery: the Raptor SD range, a heavier build and larger engine version of the standard Raptor; or you can jump up to the FastTrak range which is described as the Rolls-Royce of the ride-on mower range. Both models guarantee an exceptional cut and increased time savings.

Echo

HCA 265ES HD

When you have high hedges, this is the tool for you. With an overall length of 2.44m, a powerful 35.4cc engine and a 536mm cutting head, the HCA 265ES makes a tough job easy, with an excellent finish. The easy start system from Echo using the latest Japanese technology will also produce a comfortable and reliable starting system.

SRM-3020

Again, Echo is showing they are striving for solutions for Echo customers with the introduction of new high torque grass trimmer. What does this mean? Well, you get the performance of a bigger machine with less weight. This model is available in loop or bar handle configurations and once you try it, you won’t want anything else.

Simplicity Range

The all new Simplicity rear-discharge range will set high standards for efficiency and comfort. The range consists of three models all equipped with a Tuff-Torq hydrostatic transmission system. Draper

4-in-1 Petrol Garden Tool

The versatile Draper 4-in-1 Petrol Garden Tool includes attachments for trimming grass and cutting brush, as well as a saw for pruning and trimming. The extension pole attachment means you can reach any trees or shrubs that might have been out of reach previously. A single strap shoulder harness featuring a quick release mechanism and an adjustable D-type soft grip handle makes this garden tool very comfortable to use. The powerful 32.5cc engine has an output of up to 1000W and the capacity of the petrol fuel tank is 0.6 litres.

AS Motor Range

German made AS Motor offer a range of professional pedestrian and ride-on mowers. What makes AS Motor stand out from the crowd is their high-performance capability to mow very tall grass compared to a standard mower. Longer grass in wetter conditions is no problem to the AS Motor range. They’re excellent products for those growing wild flower meadows which are becoming increasingly popular in Ireland.

940 RC

Within the AS Motor range exists a very innovative ride-on mower which offers the gardener the ability to mow a lawn from flat grading up to moderate slopes as a ride-on. However, the 940 RC also offers the operator the added feature to dismount the ride-on mower and switch to remote-control mode; allowing them to operate the lawn mower from a safe distance while the 940 RC mows independently up to a 45 degree angle. It is a very unique product which allows you to maintain slopes and banks in your garden which might otherwise be impossible.

Morrisson

Contractor

The Morrison Contractor is powered by the Briggs and Stratton Commercial 850 engine. The Contractor features a “Ready Start” option – no choke, just pull and go. Three-speed transmission, with cut and catch, mulch or rear discharge features are on offer. The Contractor uses the twin-blade disc cutting system, is the choice of professionals and is ideal for heavy domestic use.
